As devastating floods grip the northern and northeastern areas in Bangladesh, the voluntary organization Khoj Foundation has come forward to support the affected communities. The organization has launched a major relief collection campaign in Dhaka, where people from all walks of life are contributing, ranging from cash donations to rice, lentils, dry food, medicines, and baby supplies.
Relief collection centers are active in four key locations in Dhaka
The foundation has set up relief collection booths in Dhanmondi, Mirpur, Mohammadpur, and Badda. The drive runs daily from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM. So far, several thousand relief packages have been assembled and dispatched.
Present at the drive were, Muhammad Ashraf Ali, Chief Advisor of Khoj Foundation, Md. Tofayel Hasan, President of the Foundation, Sujon Haque, Secretary Members Joy Debnath, Sohel, A.M. Raihan, and Rafayat Roman, among others.
🎙️ “Every meal matters to someone who’s hungry” Speaking to the media, Chief Advisor Muhammad Ashraf Ali said:
“Government aid takes time to reach. Our aim is to deliver relief as fast as possible. We want to ensure at least one meal reaches every flood-affected family.” He added:
“Small donations, when added together, become a beacon of hope for thousands. We now need even more people to come forward and participate.”
What’s inside each relief package?
Each relief package distributed by Khoj Foundation includes:
2 kg rice
500g lentils
500g salt
1 liter cooking oil
1 packet of biscuits
5 water purification tablets
2 packets of oral saline
1 pack of sanitary pads
Baby food (as needed)
These packages have already been delivered to several severely flood-affected regions. Khoj’s volunteers are personally traveling to remote areas to hand over the supplies, working with local teachers and elected representatives to ensure they reach the truly needy.
